HEAVY DUTY FRONT MOUNT BRACKET U CLAMP is for 1 1/8" (1.5" or 38 mm) up to 2" (51 mm) bike down tube diameters.
The bracket is made from HD steel.
This unique offset design of the mount allows it to not only fit various down tube sizes and required installation lengths but will also reduce vibration. You can mount it so that it does not greatly increase the length of the front mount from stock or it can be flipped around to increase the length of the front mount. It can also accommodate oval shaped tubes.Fits some of the 29" Genesis Astra or Onyx Men's Beach Cruiser Bike, please check your front motor mounts to make sure it fits those bolts. JAM NUTTING very imporatnt to know how to do this.
Start the preparation by “jam nutting” all of the studs around the engine and turn them all in until they bottom out in the engine case. These are the 2 front motor mount studs, 2 rear motor mount studs, 2 exhaust studs, 4 cyclinder head studs, and 2 intake manifold studs. Or take them out and install longer motor mount bolts if nessasary.
With two 10mm wrenches thread on and tighten together 2 plain 6mm nuts on the threaded rod motor mount bolts. By moving the inner most or outer most nut the threaed rod can be removed or driven into the threaded bolt hole. Any length motor mount bolts can be installed into the engine with various size blocks to raise the engine.
The use of two plain nuts goes back at least 150 years based upon observation of historic machinery. Tightening one nut down and then simply tightening another nut on top of it achieves little locking effect. A specific procedure needs to be followed if locking is to be achieved. When a thin and thick nut are used, it may be thought that the thick nut should go next to the joint since this would take the entire load. However, by placing the thin nut on first, when the thick nut is tightened on top of it, the load on the threads of the thin nut are relieved of their load. http://www.boltscience.com/pages/twonuts.htm
